I've seen those fortune teller storefronts. Usually they have a neon palm in the window. Always wondered who uses their services.

I went to a real gypsy fortuneteller once with a friend. We were read by a young woman who seemed to be ‘in training’ by an older one.

One thing we found interesting was that they tended, at least back then, to ‘read’ you through the lens of their own cultural references. She told both of us we’d have five or six children. (Neither of us ever had one.)
