Reminds me of the first iPads. You would take it to the beach, and in the hot sun the screen would go blank with a message that it overheated. Newer ones have cooler running microprocessors and electronics.
I imagine the same thing is happening when Tesla cars are sitting in the hot sun while parked, gets toasty inside and the screen bakes and goes blank. They need to shade it somehow, rather than have it exposed to sunlight.
You imagine incorrectly. By default, the Tesla has overtemp protection for the cabin, set to 115F. The climate control will come on to lower the cabin temperature, unless you’ve intentionally disabled the feature.
