This man is such a fraud. So he didn’t even like liberal John McCain, yet people act like Schmidt is on the right.

And Republicans aint much either except a few exceptions over thier history

He went with Palin for one reason, to stop the Hillary supporters, who were upset with Obama, from voting for McCain.
Yes, Palin did get some conservatives on board, but she also drove away a lot of the Hillary supporters that might have otherwise voted for McCain.

Whatever choice he would have made, the media would have attacked him. They attacked him for suspending his campaign. Had he been a Democrat, they would have praised him for returning to D.C.
Back in college they told us that was illegal. I’m not sure it was true though.

Exactly, McCain was the perfect foil for the ineligible Kenyan from Indonesia.
Similarly ineligible because he was born in Panama, but the son and grandson of Admirals so he made the most sympathetic case to not uphold the Constitution and it got everyone arguing about McCain and not Obama.
The Senate passed a resolution declaring McCain to be a natural born citizen in spite of being born in Panama owing to his TWO citizen parents and Obama voted for it, knowing he had only one and that his foreign father had made him a British subject and Kenyan national at birth.
Both parties wanted the natural born citizen clause neutered and Obama was the way to get it done.
The GOP had a stable full of ineligibles and those people were seen as the future of the party.
Cruz, Rubio, Jindal, Haley and George P Bush were all born with foreign nationality and are not natural born citizens.

I agree and that is one of the “ironies” of his campaign: That a guy that the press loved while he was being a “maverick” in his own party would suddenly be turned upon by the same press when he ran for President.

More and more I’m thinking Schmidt was the “Wormtounge” for McCain, Frist and much of the insider GOP in AZ.
Instead of using their brains and talking to voters, they fell for the trap.

Even so, in August McCain will have died four years ago. Has anyone else noticed the controversies that surrounded him while he lived are still treated by the news as current events, not historical? Why is that?
McCain is buried in the United States Naval Academy Cemetery and Columbarium next to his friend, Admiral Charles R. Larson in a dignified grave. When will the press finally let him stay dead and rest in peace?
