Steve Schmidt disagreed with McCain on one of the few things that McCain actually got right. Not on any of the tons of crap that McCain got wrong.

Without reading the article, I'm going with Sarah Palin.

He went with Palin for one reason, to stop the Hillary supporters, who were upset with Obama, from voting for McCain.

Yes, Palin did get some conservatives on board, but she also drove away a lot of the Hillary supporters that might have otherwise voted for McCain.
