HOAs suck. That is exactly why we moved into the country. I have no use for those people at all.
HOAs that restrict actual speech should be unconstitutional.
I just visited my brother and commented about how many Let’s Go Brandon flags I saw around there.
He and his wife figured Brandon was a local high school football player. I clued them in.

As I’ve stated on another site…..Every liberal needs to be herded into the coastal hives they’ve created in California, Washington, Oregon, along the East coast, a few big cities.
When they’re all in those places, each is walled off and protected by guys with guns.
Commerce can be conducted for food and anything else they need, but they cannot leave. EVER. Unless they’re a good looking women who is sick of the skinny jean wearing, pajama boys and decides they want a guy that knows the difference between a hammer and an apple. But it’s treated like a mail-order bride or something.

Seems like a step too far for an HOA
Most HOAs are given the authority by state law to do various things, including levying fines for non-compliance, with the stated goal of enhancing the values of all homes within their jurisdiction, enhancing safety, etc. However, just like the state government that gives them that authority, they are beholden to the constitution. The fact that the HOA is not literally a government is meaningless - it is still found by all of the restrictions that are in the constitution against any level of government. Thus, restricting free speech such as the display of a political bumper sticker is prohibited. I would love this guy to be fined, refused to pay the fine, be taken to court and then appeal to federal court on 1st Amendment grounds. I despise HOAs (well, really the generally power-hungry people running them, just like most of our politicians), and they need to be slapped down on a nationwide basis. This case is tailor-made made for just that result.
Change it to a NASCAR sticker if the HOA’s
complaint is about it being political.
Although he shouldn’t have to.
I would also file a complaint if anyone
in his neighborhood has a Biden sticker
on their vehicle.

Why I live in the country. I had “Clinton Sucks” cut into my pasture in 200 ft letters in ‘94. My place is on approach for Gray Army airfield / Killeen airport. He flew over it at least 3 times.
Typically, and I know from experience, mostly the busybodies will be the ones volunteering for the (unpaid) board and committee positions. And they love to make up rules for everybody to follow. They live for this stuff.
When I bought my current condo, I was supplied with a three ring binder full of rules and regulations and since I moved in, they've probably added about thirty pages to that!
You will see things like "Christmas wreaths can by hung from doors starting on December 15 but must be taken down by January 6." Then surely somebody will complain at the next HOA meeting and the wording will have to get changed to "Holiday wreaths", and the date range might be adjusted to accomodate Hannukah even though the Jewish people do not hang wreaths on their doors from what I can gather.
Yes, people will get together at HOA meetings and actually argue that stuff back and forth!
I attended exactly one HOA meeting and vowed to never attend another one. For two plus hours it was about the landscaper pruning too much off the trees and about dog poop in common areas. Then some woman got up to screech about dogs "peeing on the grass" forcing her to remove her shoes at the door and walk around her unit in bare feet.
I'm fortunate enough to have a pretty decent HOA board but you couldn't pay me enough to put up with that kind of nonsense.

Torn here. The picture shows his trucks with 4 flags and a decal across the back of the truck. Not a bumper sticker. Imagine those flags and decal if the person was a liberal. Looks tacky as hell and glad he’s not my neighbor
