It has been an interesting test. The results seem to be the Russian military is not up to the task of beating the Ukrainian military, which has much less “high tech” modern weapons than the NATO countries.

Furthermore, this “military intervention” on the part of Russian “Peacekeeper,” has mobilized NATO countries to invest more of the their national budgets on upgrading their military spending. The purging of older weapons by several former Warsaw Pact countries, will also result in significant modernization of their inventory of weapons.

In addition, the economic sanctions placed on Russia will make it very hard and difficult for the Russian military to replace all the equipment they have lost in Ukraine. And the body count of this will make it harder to get volunteers and conscripts to rebuild the military.

Yes, this has been a proxy war of attrition and Russia if it wants to challenge NATO is going to have a long hard multi-decade challenge to improve its military.

Yes, but don't you see:

1. After all the incompetent, easy-to-kill Russian Generals, Colonels, and Battalion Commanders are all gone, only the very best, highly-intelligent ones will be left over. Survival of the fittest! By the time the Russians are down to their last two or three leading officers, those officers ought to be as undefeatable as modern-day Asgardians!

2. The same principle applies to all those defective, poorly-maintained, and/or otherwise useless and abandoned Russian military vehicles!
