Susquehanna Valley Central High School did nothing to prevent a mentally-ill student from endangering public safety. A public school system failed to protect the very public that pays their salaries.
"In 2021, the then-17-year-old Gendron talked about committing a shooting at Susquehanna Valley Central High School in Broome County, New York. The threats to the school came in comments to fellow students, The Buffalo News reported on Saturday, citing unnamed government sources.“A school official reported that this very troubled young man had made statements indicating that he wanted to do a shooting, either at a graduation ceremony, or sometime after,” the official said.
This prompted school officials to call New York state troopers, who took Mr Gendron into custody under the state’s mental health law for evaluation...Gendron was in treatment for about a day and a half before being released..."
They didn't even hold Gendron the full 72 hours!
"Gendron has been investigated by law enforcement before. The defense must do what blue-state prosecutors in this country will not do with every one of these.“In June 2021, police in Broome County were called by high school officials who told them Gendron had threatened violence in comments made to fellow students, the News reported...So he had a history."
The defense must put the school system on trial, and demonstrate that marxists have specifically rendered the school systems impotent to deal with not just internal threats but threats to public safety!
- "Did Susquehanna Valley High School administrators report Payton's specific threat to law enforcement?"
- "Did Payton's teachers witness him searching guns or ammunition on school equipment or his tablet or his phone?"
- "Did Susquehanna Valley High School school administrators or school safety/Broome County law enforcement search Payton's backpack or locker?"
- "After Payton was taken into custody, did Broome County law enforcement or Susquehanna Valley High School school safety follow up?"
- "Under New York Education Law § 3214, did Susquehanna Valley High School administrators permanently remove Payton from Susquehanna Valley High School? If not, why not?"
School administrators, principals, teachers, and staff all failed to isolate and remove the public threat. Miserably.
Schools are not there to treat the mentally ill, but they sure as heck can identify them and remove them from society.
If we are going to overturn Roe then the next thing is to overturn the Community Mental Health Act of 1963 and every fatal mistake that has flowed downstream from the CMHA, and go back to using high schools to separate the wheat from the chaff.
And yes, we conservatives can do this at the same time we remove the culture of emasculation from the school systems. This isn't rocket science, FRiends. The system worked for nearly a hundred years until the marxists took over public education in the US.
Why isn’t the State Official that evaluated him identified? Where are all the reporters digging into the reasons this boy was free to kill?
Susquehanna Valley Central High School in Broome County is a long way from Buffalo, like four hours by highway.
“They didn’t even hold Gendron the full 72 hours!”
Florida has the “Baker Act”. It functions well.
