Joe Lombardo has taken a giant lead in Nevada’s Republican gubernatorial primary less than one month after receiving an endorsement from former President Donald Trump.
Lombardo has 35 percent support among likely GOP voters, according to a recent poll conducted by the Nevada Independent. The next closest candidate is Joey Gilbert, who polled at 15 percent. Dean Heller received 11 percent, and John Lee came in fourth place with nine percent. The remaining 11 candidates received no more than three percent support.
Lombardo, who is serving his second term as Clark County sheriff, received Trump’s endorsement in late April.
Trump lauded Lombardo’s military service and added that he would “fiercely Protect our under-siege Second Amendment, Oppose Sanctuary Cities, Support our Law Enforcement, Veto any Liberal Tax Increase, Protect Life, and Secure our Elections.”

Trump has a history of being somewhat squishy on guns. This shouldn’t surprise anyone.
After all is said and done most of the republics we are stuck with are squishy moderates at best. 20:years ago q touite a few would have fit better being moderate dems.

This is the first time that I heard Trump endorsed Lombardo who has NOT been a friend of the 2nd amendment. I figured he’d endorse Joey Gilbert, though his campaign has been lackluster so far.
Joey’s campaign may be “lackluster” but he is all over the place trying to get a message out. Regardless, cortez masto and sissypants need to go. But———unions in Vegas. Lesser here in Reno but I need to cruise by Terminal way and see what posters are up.

Nevada (actually “Greater Las Vegas” since it dominates the entire state) is just New Jersey with a different climate, and it’s every bit as corrupt.
It’s not as far gone as Jersey — yet. Nevada still teases us by allowing Republicans to lose close elections instead of Republicans losing in landslides. Further ongoing invasion from the south (Mexico) and west (California) will enable things to reach the Democrat landslide point eventually.
