Over 100 years ago, Catholics created the parochial school system as an alternative to public schools. It worked great for a long time. Several problems developed.

First, liberal forces within the church diluted and contaminated the product, and it took at least one generation of poorly catechized students for the parents to figure it out.

Second, s sharp decline in religious vocations increased the cost and weakened the product. A layman just doesn't have the same force as Sister Mary Aloysius.

Third, where there are government benefits attached (e.g. school lunches, book subsidies) there are strings, and the schools for in line quickly to keep the subsidies. Where they don't take the benefits, regulations may still cripple them (e.g. "Safety" as in COVID, etc.)

But yes, what you describe is already happening. So we have Traillife, Troops of St. George, parish libraries, homeschool co-ops, Christian sports leagues, etc.

I am happy to look to the Amish and the Orthodox Jews and adapt what works for our needs. It is tricky, and there are lots of false starts, patience is needed, and charity towards the people you work with to form the associations.

Start Christian centric programs and summer activities for your children and those that share the same values. No one gets naked, no one discusses sexual orientation. Expect some blowback but there are ways around and through every minefield.

It’s easy to be a key board warrior but it sometimes infuriates me that conservatives still believe that in dealing with the Left there can be ‘’civil discourse’’.

Almost all 4H groups ar eked by state universities (ie., VA Tech etc..) that is where a good portion of the funding for salaries for extension agents, who head up things like camps for youth and workshops. Many of these 4H groups have gone urban in nature and now reflect a very leftist leaning ideology.

One of my kids was a youth counselor and per their own rules, the campers were not allowed to display religious or political clothing or emblems.

My kid the youth counselor asked a camper who was wearing gay insignia and wording and carrying a gay pride flag to please put the flag away because the rules of the camp didn’t allow political flags.

Guess who got in trouble?

We didn’t go back.
