The rules:
“Do keep it clean - A bruise or two between Freepers is tolerable, but refrain from abusive attacks, engaging in senseless flame wars, and using profane language. Considering the range of topics we discuss, it’s hard to be a family site, but that’s what we aim for when at all possible.”

At some point, someone is going to revive the idea of gasoline rationing in this ‘time of national and global climate emergency’. It will be much easier to do than it was during WWII. Depending on how ‘important’ your job is, you’ll be allowed so many gallons of gasoline per month. You’ll be issued a gas ration card just like the EBT cards. Every month your card will get ‘filled up’ with more gallons. Federal offense for using someone else’s card—heavy fines/jail time, selectively enforced of course.

Could be worse ... could have all those electric vehicles plugged in taking down the electric grid and having millions die of heat stroke .... all those gas vehicles won’t take down the grid.

Funny how the NYT never chides the elites for flying around in their private jets everywhere which is many times worse in carbon emissions. They only want the little people to tighten up their usage.

This is the standard inflation government/mass media playbook from the Carter years.
(1) Ignore the inflation.
(2) Admit there is inflation but say it is “transitory”.
(3) Blame “greedy corporations” and “evil foreigners” for the inflation.
Today we moved to the next step:
(4) Blame “selfish” Americans for inflation....
I leave (5), (6) and (7) as an exercise....

The New York Times needs to stop using electricity if they want to save the planet—then they can sit in the corner, face the wall, and shut the ^%$# up.

From the article:
What was once dubbed “transitory inflation” is now “Putin’s price hike."
It is a well documented fact that prices were rising before Putin decided to invade Ukraine. I got a real kick in a Congressional hearing when Enegry Sec'ty Granholm used the "Putin's price hike" excuse. She was mocked as being silly.
