Putinists only had about 48 hours to pretend like things were going their way and then all the bad news picks up pace again as usual because of how shitty and incompetent Russian forces are.

This includes in that aggressive push with concentrated forces on that city in Luhansk, where apparently the Russians no longer have the armor to attempt to encircle the city, and intercepted communications apparently shows Russians so afraid to send armor out that they’re leaving wounded Russkies to die.

Sucks to suck.

This intelligence report - that Russia’s problems on the ground are connected to its difficulty to achieve air dominance - is interesting.

1. Yes, Russian tanks are designed badly. Their carousel of rounds IN the turret compartment causes the tank to cook-off when hit. That is, these rounds go off, often popping the turret sky high. The carousel and associated equipment allows the tank to work with a smaller crew (the tank doesn’t need a loader), but the design makes the tank into a death trap.

2. Yes, ground-based anti-aircraft missiles are up to the task of preventing the other side from dominating the air. Tactical air is limited to the equivalent of “drive bys.” Compare this to how devastating were our attack helicopters, A-10s and high performance aircraft in recent wars, and the use of drones more recently.

Having said this, I wonder about the extent that the Ruskies (and the Chinese) can look over the horizon with airborne and satellite-based radars. We have a God’s eye perspective. I don’t think they do.

3. Artillery-fired smart munitions. We didn’t send any of our 155s to Ukraine prior to the start of the war, because we didn’t think the Ukes could stop the Ruskies. Instead, we only sent ATGMs and other weapons that could be used by a guerilla army. Upon the Ukes demonstrating that they could go toe-to-toe with the Ruskies, we sent them the M-777 howitzer, and NATO allies sent their equivalent.

These things are awesome.

The Ukes had already shown themselves to be proficient artillerymen and, now, with smart munitions, they are devastating out to 15 clicks. This is approx. 5 times the distance of the longest sniper.

Artillery still the king of battle

When it comes to attacking the enemy, remember: Artillery is the greater part of valor.

My hat off to all you 13 Bravos from this 11 Bravo.

Yet another reason why our side is continuing losing: the inability to know what’s propaganda and what is not.

Tokyo Rose, Jan 1945:

“Today the Japanese Imperial Navy sank 3 American aircraft carriers, five battleships, sixteen destroyers, and threw the Marines off Iwo Jima.”

A majority of Japanese citizens is said to have believed Japan was winning up to a month or so prior to the end.

The problem for the Russians is the speed of their operations. They gathered their best forces for a push towards Kramatorsk, but it’s been a week and they have only managed to capture a few border villages.

That has given the Ukrainians enough time to pour reinforcements into the area.

I'll leave it. How on earth did you find something like this? Wasn't the computer generated voice enough for you to turn it off? Do you trust any other amateurishly made news reports like this?

The number of 777 sent is helpful, but far too few to make much of a difference over a front stretching 100s of miles; while facing 1000s of Orc tubes - some of which shoot more then 15km - BM 27: 16x220mm, 70km; BM 30: 12x300mm, 90km. UA needs the 1000 M777 rumored to be waiting scraping.

The Canadians sent many 1000s of Excalibur shells which are great help extending the range out to 70km, but the UA lacks spotter drones (on the order of the integral Orlon-10 the Orcs use) to make them really useful. And the amount of ammo sent is also inadequate, the UA needs thousands of tubes, and millions of shells and rockets to begin to counter the Orcs use of artillery (who’s shells and rockets are free and unlimited in quantity).

Then, one has to consider that unlike the organization of Orc units, UA artillery can be taken by any commander to anywhere regardless of the present need.

All of the advanced stuff the West is sending is dumbed down because of security risks, require satellite usage, require expensive and extensive training over many months and years to become efficient and proficient. Some is just not needed like the HIMARS M142 MLRS system - too expensive ($750,000 per round) for the best rockets. It help[s, but those 1000 777s would go a long way toward helping the UA win.

There is a lot more - all of this info is in “Attack on Europe” posted by speedyInTexas daily going back to April

The Japanese citizens knew they were losing, based on the size of the rations provided by the government and the increased number of 'colonists' being returned to Japan as the country began to lose its holdings.

But Russian bot is going to Russian bot, and lie.

I’m pretty sure the explanation is is that Russia used its old equipment to fight this war cause it’s saving its good toys for the war with NATO in the US. That’s why they didn’t have their aircraft.

UKRAINIAN MILITARY UNITS BETRAYED BY THEIR COMMANDERS
28 May 2022 by Larry Johnson

https://sonar21.com/ukrainian-military-units-betrayed-by-their-commanders/

Apart from the despicable AZOV battalion, which surrendered 2500 fighters at Mariupol, the Ukrainian soldiers called into action and sent to the Donbas to fight the Russians are angry at their chain of command for not properly supplying them with the weapons and equipment they need to fight. This is not your normal troop bitching about conditions. All soldiers in all wars throughout history have passed the time complaining about lousy food, terrible weather, inept commanders and stupid decisions.

This is something different and explains one reason for Russia’s progress in the Donbass as well as growing rumors of a coup to oust Zelensky. These soldiers still believe in fighting for Ukraine but are not keen on committing suicide and following crazed orders. I am going to show you videos of soldiers from eight units presenting a formal demand to President Zelensky and the Ukrainian General in Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Here are the units:

13th Battalion of 58th Motorized Infantry Brigade
2nd Company of the 46th Rifle Battalion
3rd Platoon of the 46th Infantry Battalion
115th Brigade
3rd Platoon of the 115th Brigade
71st Jaeger Infantry Brigade
Ukrainian 14th Brigade: 6th Battalion, 4th, 5th, and 6th companies

Agreed. Russia has close to 20,000 artillery pieces, the Ukies less than 4,000- many of which( has been captured or destroyed).

https://armedforces.eu/land_forces/ranking_artillery

In addition, artillery must have massive support, movers, supply vehicles, fuel convoys- ammo is heavy, the Ukies have no production of shells, factories all bombed- heavy movers, fuel, rail lines destroyed…..relying on depots ( that have been targeted) and western charity. Trained artillery men ( Redlegs) disappearing, weeks to train, months to get fielded.

The 90 M777 artillery pieces brain dead Biden gave away ( taken largely from Marines) have to make it across the flat plains, metric tons of ammunition, initial reports already show a dozen or so M777 pieces have been destroyed / silenced enroute.

Lastly, video from the Territorial Guards ( not available on western MSM) tell a story, 24/7 unlimited Russian shelling, “ one Ukie shell to 25 Russian shells”, be very careful what you choose to believe.

The Donbass WILL get their Independence from the Ukies as agreed to in 2014.
The Ukies after losing the Donbass will have a perilous retreat west across the flat plains….forget the promised “ Great tank battle” on those plains, non western reported Ukie armor losses already topping 3,000- as of 26 May.

Best for the little corrupted beggar Zelensky to enter negotiations when Vlad finishes taking the Donbass. Non western video shows massive fortifying in the taken areas, triple trench systems, minefields, concrete bunkers, improvement of supply roads, etc…Vlad has every intention in holding the Independent Donbass provinces. Expect the 30 mile wide “ buffer” zone on the Independent LDR and DNR borders to be in place before Vlad agrees to negotiations.

there always is a lot more

you mention cost per round, which is good

in US versus third- or fourth-rate power, cost per round is hardly a consideration

when we’re talking of US proxy war against Russia or China, you have to get real about cost

6-8,000 Ukies captured/ surrendered by LNR DNR troops to date-do remember the Donbass war has been on going since 2015, and the Ukie Territorial Guards are no match for the hardened Donbass troops- as witnessed in the Mariupol surrender.
Red Cross being given access, however their “ lips are sealed” as to actual numbers- I wonder why?
Please do remember what Trump said about the fake western media, fake.
Don’t get sucked in, it will lead to a huge disappointment ( and lesson learned- again).
