Years ago there was a debate between Orin Hatch and Jesse Jackson on gun control--Jesse for it, Orin against it. Jesse made the usual arguments for gun control. Orin listened patiently to his diatribe. Finally, he had had enough and said:

If you remove the murders done by black males between the age of 15 and 35, the US would have a lower murder rate than Switzerland.

The camera swung to Jesse...crickets.

I actually researched the numbers some years back, and he's correct. If you subtract homicides done by non-European-Americans, the European-American rate is actually lower than the European homicide rate.
