In some parts of Texas, it certainly is the neighbor.

In other parts, it's still the same town. Start in Rockwall/Fate/Royse City, and it's 70+ miles of straight city on I30 until you get past the far side of Ft. Worth. Start in South Dallas going straight on 35/75 up towards OK, it's 60 miles till you start seeing empty fields and trees.
