Funny how the response of Uvalde police and Broward Sheriff’s Dept were similar. I don’t think LE gets the memo in advance.
Now the new lingo is “police cowardice.” Which completely goes against common sense. Police are trained, physically and mentally, to face danger. Those police, if encountering a real shooting event involving children, would never hesitate to go in. No doubt many are parents themselves. Sure, there might be some LE that aren’t the bravest. But these men and women are profiled - before being hired - to have the temperament and disposition to act in dangerous situations.
These mass shooting events ask us to suspend or deny our knowledge of human nature. There weren’t 19 cowardly police officers there that day. Not a chance.
But there could have been 19 crisis actors taking the place of LE. Anything is possible.
The two Border Patrol guys didn’t get the memo, they just went in and took care of it.
There were 19 police officers that could follow orders. Very easily.
You think the police officers who waited outside to allow the killer teen to murder 19 children were brave do you?
Especially as in the end, it took a border patrol guy to go in and shoot the f**cker.

These were school police. About as good as the safety patrol I was seargent of when I was in the 6th grade.
They are like TSA in the airports. Really brave against the cowed public, having absolute power, but never expecting to go up against any dangerous adversaries.
DPS, Sheriff’s deputies, and city policemen I know would have ignored the fall back order and gone in and stopped.
