Patrick Lancaster is a paid Russian propagandist.
I watch him. He is married to a Russian. He covers the war by being there and hands the mic to the people.
I think smearing him isn’t fruitful in any way. He also helps citizens who are needy on both sides.
Patrick Lancaster is a Ukrainian citizen married to a local girl. He’s a 100% crowd funded independent journalist. To some people on FR, anybody definitively proving that downtown Kharkov was hit by Ukrainian Toshka missiles killing scores of innocents is a “paid Russian propagandist” They must be because these AZOV Aryan angels have such deep respect for innocent lives. Patrick is doing gods work, while our garbage “media” is more interested in enriching Raytheon and General Dynamics. Hopefully when it’s all over, independent journalists will be recognized for their role in ending this insanity before a million people die as happened in Iraq.
Lancaster barely collected any money, but somehow magically was able to support himself overseas in a war zone. He's another Walter Duranty.
Lancaster also describes himself as an independent journalist, and says his work is entirely funded through crowdfunding. Despite this, he seems to have raised less than $6,500 in the past eight months.

All one needs to do is watch how he moves in, around and with the Russian military to know he’s a Russian shill. NFW an ‘independent journalist’ moves amongst Russian soldiers without military sponsorship, travel authorization and escort.
I did this in Iraq as a DoD Contractor. I know what’s involved, what it accords and what it looks like.
I don’t think he is brave. I think he is a weasel actually. Saw him draw real close to refugees when the enemy was attacking. Looked like he was ensuring his own escape route more than theirs. Making sure he had a seat in a lifeboat.

That’s evidence of nothing. How do you know that’s his full-time job? how do you know he doesn’t have six other writing jobs? how do you know he isn’t doing it mostly as a volunteer?
I really don’t understand is why we have so many Mass Formation victims who will dismiss somebody at ground zero with a video camera and a mic interviewing real people and cataloging AZOV atrocities at great personal risk. These are things you can take in with your own eyes and ears. But, no, you would prefer direct, verbatim fake press releases from the Ukranian information office (a country which has shut down all independent media ) repackaged by domestic fake media, whose previous success in the information war was to fraudulently install Biden into the White House.
Let us know when Lancaster gets his Pulitzer.

Because most people understand that if you are a journalist "embedded" with the Russian army, any negative reporting on the Russian invasion will get you evicted from the country therefore disqualifying yourself as an "independent" foreign journalist.

Lancaster has lived in the Russian occupied areas since 2014 and has been embedded with the Russian army, destroying any claims of "independent" journalism.

There is no independent journalism any longer. That concept escaped years ago. It is now up to us to seek out the truth. Listening to Lancaster’s view is just one way to do that — just like listening to CNN.

Apart from a report on a artillery crew, Lancaster isn’t “embedded” with anyone. He’s reporting from liberated territory with a local fixer and driver. Russians have a law that journalists can’t undermine their military operations by reporting positions or numbers and they can’t make up lies about what’s happening. That came as a shock to the western CIA tv as it’s pretty much their business model. That’s why most of the them packed up and left in a panic in March. Virtually all of CNN and BBC reportage on Ukraine is regurgitated Goebbels style propaganda from the Ukrainian Ministry of Information. They aren’t allowed anywhere near the Ukrainian front lines. It’s so pervasive that even EU leaders are basing their military and financial decisions on obvious lies. Did you hear Macron actually come out and say “it’s important not to humiliate Russia when we defeat them and send them packing from Ukraine and Crimea? Lol! He’s not even living in the same dimension of reality of what’s actually happening on the ground.
