Did those “First Peoples” ever massacre other tribes? Or were they all living in blissful harmony with each other and commencing peaceably with nature?

So are now giving up “Native American” now and are transitioning to “First Peoples”? It seems only yesterday we stopped using “Indians” and started using “Native American.” Did anybody ask the Canucks if they are happy with us appropriating and modifying their “First Nations” jargon?

Well, we have Iroquois County in Illinois. I remember reading LaSalle’s account of approaching an Illini village. A lot of the people appeared to be standing but were not moving. When they got to the village, LaSalle’s party found that all of the people had been massacred and mutilated and those who appeared to be standing had been tied to posts and burned. It was the work of the Iroquois, so Illinois might want to consider re-naming that county.

One of many, many incidents of Indians slaughtering each other.
