ith gas prices hitting historic levels across the country, one gas station owner is drawing praise online for calling out what he deemed a "ripoff" being perpetuated by oil companies.

Reynold Gladu has operated Ren's Mobil Station in Amherst, Massachusetts, for around 48 years. Last week, in response to soaring prices, he opted to drain his tanks and not have them refilled, refusing to take part in the business, which he claims is taking advantage of customers. In his state, average gas prices currently exceed the national average of $5 a gallon.

He sounds admirable, but the problem here is twofold: one, the woke ESG doo-dahs aren’t lending as much money to big oil, making the woke ESG doo-dahs the real culprits, and two, since he let his tanks run dry, he’s now one less option for gas in his locale, allowing his immediate competitors to raise prices a bit to accommodate demand.

Two drops in an ocean...
Go after the clown who caused all of this in a matter of hours after taking office and killing the Keystone XL Pipeline, severely restricted all federal oil leases, and did nothing to streamline the permitting process for getting oil from the fields to the refineries. Biden is a disaster...not the oil companies, not the people who own and run gas stations...Biden is the bad guy here.

So it’s not Russia’s fault anymore?

Love the oil company scapegoat BS. Every time someone mentions the “oil companies” gouging, I retort “funny, I don’t remember any gouging before 1/20/21.”

Ask a liberal this question: Why doesn’t one of the oil companies start selling gasoline for $2.00 less than the competition? Sure they would lose money per unit of sale, but they would more thank make up for it by the increase in volume.

It couldn’t be that it was a good business decision, could it?

Maybe he’s not making enough to add that extra digit to the pumps.

Yeah, that’ll work. All gas stations should follow suit. That will show somebody! That’ll fix ‘em.

Q: What did socialists use before candles?

A: Electricity

Correct, and this fool has swallowed the ESG pill of lies and thinks he’s virtue signalling, when in fact, he is depriving many, many people of a small living by taking himself out of the chain of supply. In short, a tool. The prices are INDEED based on supply— supply which Biden screwed with his FIRST day in “office” with Jill Biden signing the documents for him while he signed BLANK pages of executive orders deconstructing US energy INDEPENDENCE!

Biden did this- and his grinning pals and middlemen lap up the grift.

Bullshit. This is a News Misleadia attempt to make the problem "Those greedy oil companies!".

Exactly. Now we are back to big oil as being the fault. This hilarious.

And don’t forget Biden’s ESG buddies, drying up the capital available to oil companies.

He could always sell the gas below what he paid for it. BUT HE WON’T. All talk, no balls.

It’s called either charity or a “loss leader”.

Has this guy looked at the cost of a barrel of oil in the
last few years.

When Biden took over Brent Crude was selling for $55.66

On Friday it was selling for $122.00

Oil companies can’t eat the cost of crude oil.

This the old canard the Left always uses when they have
screwed things up. “Oh those terrible corporations.”

Folks, this is a precursor to nationalizing the oil
companies.

Please, for heaven’s sake, don’t play into that.

If you want to be Venezuela, go ahead, I’m just sayin.
