If I still hunted I would use a 5 round magazine so as not to have a long mag which is unwieldy. A 30 round mag is for killing people. I have many. I wish not to kill a person. If I must I want the most effective weapon I can possess legally which is an AR-15 with a 30 round magazine.
The second amendment is not about hunting wild game. It is about personal protection from those that would do violence to innocents.
The power is really in the states. I agree with you...Red Flag Laws can be abused...but they may also deter. This law only supports Red Flag Laws..and the Fed role is moot. I do agree, there has to be some balance in the Red Flag Laws...

IMO if someone is too dangerous to own a gun, they need to be either in prison or hospitalized.
There are at least two determinations in your statement that are dangerous to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

I've been saying for years...Anyone who cannot be trusted to be armed should not be running around loose. Surprised at how many disagree. Yes, it CAN be abused, locking up political opponents who want to be armed as a danger.
Note that Murkowski picture isn’t there ... a clear demonstration that legislation affecting basic Constitutional issues is evaluated most often as a political calculation rather than a moral or Constitutional basis.
