A Washington Post opinion piece ripped Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for his vehement opposition to kids attending drag performances after video from the "Drag Your Kids to Pride" show in Texas went viral last week, accusing him of "weaponizing" child protective services for "political gain."
"Fresh off defending parental rights in education, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has a new cause: using the power of the state to harass parents who see drag performances as family entertainment," columnist Alyssa Rosenberg wrote.
Rosenberg noted DeSantis' complaints that children should not be exposed to drag performances, citing his quotes that, "We have child protective statutes on the books," and "we may have the ability to deal with something like that" before accusing other conservatives of weaponizing similar issues – including medical interventions for "transgender children.

I am sure the WaPo printed the story how Obama weaponized the IRS and went after those he disliked.
How is it that drag queen story hours and such, are considered ok?
You aren’t allowed to bring kids into a strip joint, or a pornographic bookstore. So where do we draw lines? Why aren’t drag queen shows considered an adults only activity, such as pornography and strip joints???

Well, if someone took their kid to a strip club, or had them in the back seat when they picked up a prostitute, the state would certainly interfere and nobody would think anything of it.
I see this as perverts trying to push the envelope and see how much they can get away with. They know the state won’t interfere with just a fully clothed pervert reading a story to kids. Then they’ll have the pervert reading stories about perversion, but not using explicit language, and the state still won’t do anything. Then they’ll have the kids sit on the pervert’s lap like a department store Santa, and the state still does nothing. We can either let them keep pushing or put our foot down before they do any more damage to these kids.
