I grew up a few miles from Deerfield. That area has a LOT of big industry HQs/plants: Sara Lee, esp. Abbott Labs, huge employer for decades of locals.

Iowa’s reaction to the pandemic had a lot to do with this, as well as the taxes. Maytag left Iowa a long time ago.

Deerfield is represented by the 10th Congressional District of Illinois (Democrat Brad Schneider), 29th District of the Illinois Senate (Democrat Julie Morrison) and the 58th District of the Illinois House of Representatives (Democrat Bob Morgan).

Obviously dem land full of dem voters. How many of those dem voter employees will transfer to TX?

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Caterpillar Names Deerfield, Illinois, as New Global Headquarters

Deerfield, Ill. – Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE: CAT) announced today that its new global headquarters will be located in Deerfield, Illinois, a northern Chicago suburb. The new headquarters building is minutes away from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, is centrally located near major interstates and offers direct access to the Chicago Metra.

We know we have to compete for the best talent to grow our company, and this location will appeal to our diverse, global team, today and in the future.””
