So Hewlett has “the Package.”
What did poor old Packard get?
It’s Iowa and I’m sure you know what Iowa stands for - Idiots Out Walking Around - :o) GBR!!!
Surprised Sleepy Joe hasn’t enacted Directive 10-289 yet. The purpose of Directive 10-289 is to arrest the country’s economic decline by freezing the economy in its current state. The directive makes it illegal for workers to leave their current jobs and prevents businessmen from closing their doors.
Interesting move.
Used to be you built the headquarters where you felt you could attract the talent you want.
Dallas was NOT viewed as a place that ‘premier’ talent wanted to go.
Chi town must be in it bad.
Huh?
Iowa had a better reaction than Nebraska with Covid.
And the taxes are lower than my home state. Which is ironic since they are both rather high.
Maytag left because, well the execs didn’t want to live in Newton and Mexico is always cheaper. A family member worked with the Maytag account, and one of the E class execs was bragging how he could leave the “cowtown” of Des Moines behind once they shut Netwon, Galesburg, and a few other plants down.
Just hope they don’t bring the woke BS with them.
Liberals are like locusts.
They fuck an area up, then leave to some new nice place to do it all over again. You do realize California was where Reagan was governor, it used to be a nice place.
Inch by inch. Very slowly.
Thanks, I was misinformed.
Irving Texas my home town. It is amazing the firms that have moved to Las Colinas.
How much did Greg Abbott pay for this with my property taxes that have gone up 64% in the last 5 years.
I’m getting close to the point of selling my house to a Democrat and moving to a bunker in the country. $2M is my number - 3X what I built it for (Zillow says I’m at $1.6M, now).
Simply trading one Leftist tard cesspool (Chicago) for another Leftist tard cesspool (Dallas, Fort Worth)......
Lots of people are reading the tea leaves of the ILLINOIS Pension Crisis and what it is doing to the inevitable tax tsunami in that state. Over the past generations, Illinois (Chicago) has played the corrupt public union game of bribing now and borrowing against later.
Well, now is that later and the rat that stinks is that the Illinois State Constitution REQUIRES full payments. The current obligation is $237 BILLION but the funds on hand are $96B which is 40.5% of need.
So, if you can’t pay, you need to raise the funds elsewhere ...
Too bad so many Illinois politicians no longer reside in the state. Wonder why?
Looking for new nests to foul.
Anybody know about how many workers this affects? Is it just big shots or engineeringand manufacturing?

“Looking for new nests to foul.”
Agreed. My idiot brother fled California after a local government arbitrarily seized half of his front yard for a traffic light and sidewalk. No notice, no hearing, no warning, no compensation. They just showed up one day and tore out his retaining walls and went to work. And yes, it was definitely his property and there was no easement.
He sued and got a pittance and then fled to a deep red portion of a nearby state. And then went right back to voting Democrat and making a fool of himself with Biden lawn signs in 2020.
Now his neighbors don’t talk to him, the local propane people refuse to deliver, and the local septic guy refuses to clean out his tank.
So he pays hundreds more to get these services from out of town. Serves him right.
Other sources say 240 employees, so likely bigshots.
A company spokesperson said most of its 230 employees based in Deerfield will transition to the new headquarters over time, though the company will maintain its presence in Illinois where it has more than 17,000 employees.

Yeah, my now retired BIL worked in the city of Seguin planning dept when that went down. It was a big financial boost for the community.
Not out of the realm of possibilities. Didn't WeatherTech do a huge expansion of their facilities in the last 5 years though? I've driven by it enough along I-55 to have watched the expansion over the years.
