I think there might be more to this. The idea of it being "liberating" might mean that the Atlantic wants Biden to do even more unpopular things because he will be "liberated" from those pesky polls. If Biden doesn't care what the people think, than he can do so much more for the progressive cause.

“liberating”, what a joke Biden has been ramming crap through like a one termer from the beginning. Within the first hours he started crippling domestic energy and erasing the borders. A nation killing wrecking ball with both houses.
