The Republican up by 74 votes but last Friday the Supreme Court 6-3 with Alito, Gorsuch and Thomas dissenting allowed 253 undated mail-in votes to be counted.
Now the Democrat wins by five votes.
You may hit a pay wall on this but the core story can be seen in the excerpt it will out there on the news wires in the hours ahead.

Barrett and Kavanaugh stab everyone in the back again. They didn’t want to even hear any case involving 2020, but they’re willing to stick themselves into the middle of a judge election.

I’m not sure the Federal courts should really have any say in state election processes anyway. What was the compelling Federal interest in this case?

Happens every time...
They count, and recount, until the democrat wins.

In person voting totals should only be reported after all mail ins, absentee, and drop ballots are tallied and settled. Watch them squirm.

Why have a “law” when it can easily be ignored?
Why not have a 1 year window on submitting mail in votes?

“Now the Democrat wins by five votes.”
I’ve always said that on any game (football, baseball, etc) that was decided on one bad ref call, the losing team should not whine. If they didn’t play hard enough or good enough to make that not matter, they screwed up. (NO, this sentiment does not excuse the cheating, thieving rats).
To: Nextrush
what is the point of a legislature making voting laws, if EVERY LAW THE MAKE can be ignored by the courts!!!
ITS SOOOOOOOOOOOOO ANNOYING!!!!
states need to start passing constitutional amendments prohibiting their state supreme courts from not following election laws AS WRITTEN!!!!!!!!!!

This is the challenge for the gov and the legislature

How does anyone back illegal ballots?
Did they meet the rules or not, and if they are required to
be dated and filed by a certain date, then those that aren’t
dated are not verifiable.

It’s great that when you post from the actual source
you get so many more good comments than when you rip
off the material and stick it on your feeble stinky blog.

"In a split 6-3 vote, the U.S. Supreme Court last week ruled that election officials can count mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania that lack a handwritten date but were received in time. Alito warned in a dissent that the issue could affect the November elections."
Leaving the date off a ballot would be by intent. Its only purpose is to try hiding late ballot casting.
