Or Constitution insurance for all politicians. If they support any measure deemed Unconstitutional they owe all taxpayers damages. Say $1,000 per citizen affected per action.

correct. A person has to spend money to exercise a right guaranteed in the Constitution. No different than a poll tax to exercise a person’s right to vote.

Does not pass constitutional muster.

It’s like requiring everyone to hold liability insurance in case they accidentally or maliciously defame somebody.

And the best part is if insurance companies decline to issue policies, all gun owners become liable to criminal prosecution. The state has the address of all gun owners who have followed California laws up to this time.

Or the state will become the insurer of last result. I’m sure their prices will be reasonable.

Trump's red tsunami of patriot supporters need to make it clear to their new, Trump-endorsed federal lawmakers in 2023 that if they don't exercise their 14th Amendment power to make federal laws to prohibit states from requiring gun owner insurance that they will be primaried and replaced in 2024.

Note that it will probably take several election cycles to weed most desperate Democrats and RINOs out of federal and state governments.

Also, as a side note to this thread, please consider the following.

Hmm, insurance provider requires serial numbers of all guns before policies issued. Government subpoenas the insurance compnay files ... yeah, this will generate that lsit the fedzilla needs in order to confiscate ALL guns.

Gangs could probably get a reduced rate. That’d be a good recruiting tool. Bloods and Crips could compete for the best people.

I base this on nothing. but.. the heck they do.

Most gun-related deaths in the USA are suicides.

Anyone who “carries” and is not insured is foolhardy at best.

The gangs would likely be able to get a group rate for their insurance and that war clause pay out rider would help mitigate full gang fights for territory.

Would democrats exempt their shadow street gangs like ANTIFA and BLM?

Or would they come up with a way for taxpayers to pay the insurance for their hired killers?

NHTSA says 2020 auto deaths is 38,824 while total gun deaths for 2020 (latest year compiled), is 45,222. While that obviously is higher, we need to look at murder using guns, which is what’s driving the libs over the cliff on gun control. There were 19,384 murders that year. The rest were suicides and accidents.

I wish it were sarcasm. In NY they passed a bill requiring gun registration. After a felon was caught with a firearm, the SC eventually ruled the requirement for felons to register their firearms was unconstitutional because it violated his Fifth Amendment right to no be forced to provide evidence against himself. The law was and is only enforced against the law abiding gun owners.

I have a mental picture of the Crips & the Bloods buying LIABILITY insurance...along with all the other gangs.

Just put up a little kiosk next to the Obama Phone kiosks.

And have the Govt. pay, just like for the Obama Phones.

UNCONSTITUTIONAL. You can’t but such an onerous burden on a CONSTITUTIONALLY-PROTECTED RIGHT.
