Video shared on Twitter showed revelers twerking on top of cars as shots rang out, forcing people to flee for cover.I take it they were fleeing from the gunshots, not the twerking. But then, what do I know?

New? I first heard about Juneteenth celebrations in downtown Denver when I was in high school. That would be about 1972 or ‘73. I was informed by my friends that we would not be going to that party as it always turned into a riot. They were correct.
Juneteenth is as it ever was.

So far, the class and propriety of the Juneteef celebrators is less than stellar.
You can take the celebrator out of the ghetto, but you can’t take the ghetto out of the celebrator.
