My son and I actually had a very nice time visiting MN in the fall of 2020, although we stayed the hell out of the still smoldering Minneapolis. We went to Bemidji - good food, friendly people, head waters of the Mighty Miss.
Interestingly, I had no idea what Minnesota was like (other than being told about Minnesota Nice) except for what I learned from Little House on the Prairie, so I was puzzled by the lack of rolling hills, thick with wild flowers, with little girls in floral dresses tumbling down them and covered wagons (and possibly the M*A*S*H set in the background).
Probably a different part of the state...
