Will Brandin call for a government buy-back program? How about a government swap program where you swap out your internal combustion car for an electric car. Also, included will be the cost of the battery charging station and an all home electric generator just in case an electric black-out occurs because of the huge demand on the electric grid these EVs will create.

We are seeing exactly what the founders tried to prevent.
Cities ruling the country as opposed to all citizens having a say in their governance.
My closest Walmart is an hour away.
I like it that way.
Eff the cities. Starve them, deprive them of water and power. I don’t need them. All they have is people fundamentally opposed to my way of life.

Public transit and rail. FAIL:

- crime increases
- assaults increase
- spread of diseases increase
- freedom of movement decreases
- personal stress increases
- if they shut down now you have no means to get around
- limited to going places close to routes
- can’t do personal long trips anywhere
- can’t haul a lot of items on your own to another place

Well, Joe, how about you become an example for all of us?

No more weekend jaunts to Delaware on Marine One. Ride your bike, or take the bus.

No more joy rides on Air Force One, either. You'll save jet fuel and avoid those stair-related accidents.

Park "the Beast". Not only does it guzzle gas, so do the 50 or so Secret Service suburbans that accompany it.

Seriously, your carbon footprint must be bigger than the whole island of Sri Lanka!

“Soon even the trains and public transportation won’t be able to afford to run.”

In my parents’ days there was more public transit. I’m for it where it makes sense. Overlooked are un-glamorous city buses. Make them free to ride and have plenty of them and traffic would go way down.

How about bringing back the electric streetcars with the “ugly” overhead wires?

Here’s something from Johnny Carson: a lady asked a streetcar operator, if I were to touch both rails would I be electrocuted. He said no mam, you’d have to throw one of your legs over that wire up there.

The only transportation Biden knows about is the train he rode from his home in Delaware to his Senate office in D.C. I doubt he has a clue about what it takes for the American worker to drive to work.

I am noting the same observation you have about public transportation here in the Puget Sound area. A handful of people riding those huge Sound Transit buses is a waste of energy. With today’s fuel prices, they will be soon taxing us an arm and a leg to pay for it.

Only in Blue states; they won’t try that in Red states.

My daughter got nailed on her bike in a hit and run about a month ago (broke her leg), my neighbor was killed on his bike a couple weeks ago right out side his house. With all the texting and driving, I threw my kids bikes in the trash a week ago. You ride a bike, you roll the dice.

"..That works fine for the I-95 corridor liberals not so good for flyover country where cities are 3-4 hours apart.."

Sounds familiar.. Germany 1938-ish. Move the deplorables out of the countryside and into the cities to be victimized by brown shirts and more equal animals. Mebbe make us wear a big red "M" or "D".

I don't think so, scooter.. d:^|

I bet the train he rides doesn't look like this.
I bet "ours" would.

Biden is completely out touch. Besides urban areas this won’t work. Plus urban areas already have trains, subways and buses. My understanding that if you can afford to do so you avoid using them due to crime. Biden isn’t doing anything about crime but other than making it worse. So all this money Biden has forcibly confiscated from hard working Americans is going to waste. Personally I am dead set against the federal government funding any transportation. I don’t even like the idea of state governments funding mass transit. Riders of mass transit can pay the actual cost. They can’t complain about funding major state roads and interstate highways since that is how all consumer goods are delivered. If they don’t like it, they can go hungry.

I have no problem with this. All those other cars bug me. Start with the mufflerless and end with the sonic thumpers.

We will take literally millions of automobiles off the road — off the road — saving tens of millions of barrels of oil, dealing with cleaning up the air,” he boasted during an October event at an electric trolley museum in Scranton, Pennsylvania

A chicken in every pot

And an Electric Trolley in every city, town, suburb, borough and village.
