Michigan became a "Shall Issue" CPL state back in 2001. Leftists were in a panic saying there was going to be gun fights in the streets.

What very few people knew, including law enforcement officers, was that at the time Michigan was already an Open Carry state and had been for years.

That didn't come to light until I think it was Steven Crowder who started walking the streets with an AR and open hand gun. That caused quite a stir but his activism worked......

From the article you posted:

When they start violating the sanctity of the Supreme Court, it makes you wonder if they could even fix an election someday.

Note: from a Twitter link of James Woods

https://twitter.com/RealJamesWoods/status/1521536828012064768?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1521536828012064768%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailywire.com%2Fnews%2Fjames-woods-crushes-ny-dem-gov-hochul-after-she-slams-scotus-ending-concealed-carry-restrictions

Here is what is necessary for the link to work:

https://twitter.com/RealJamesWoods/status/1521536828012064768?

In my opinion, the rest is pure tracking.

I see this often in articles I post and when I post them I test to see if shortening will work before I post it. If it will work, I post the shortened URL. They track the world with this crap.

Yes, this;

https://twitter.com/RealJamesWoods/status/1521536828012064768?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1521536828012064768%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailywire.com%2Fnews%2Fjames-woods-crushes-ny-dem-gov-hochul-after-she-slams-scotus-ending-concealed-carry-restrictions

Separated into it’s two parts becomes this;

https://twitter.com/RealJamesWoods/status/1521536828012064768

?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1521536828012064768%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailywire.com%2Fnews%2Fjames-woods-crushes-ny-dem-gov-hochul-after-she-slams-scotus-ending-concealed-carry-restrictions

The question mark and anything after can be removed from pretty much any url. It’s link or click tracking.

‘tweetembed’ tells twitter a tweet was embedded on a web page.

‘ref_url’ tells twitter that the person clicked the link at dailywire.com.

It’s used to see where a website’s traffic originates from so they can adjust their marketing efforts.

Where the useful part comes in is for company websites that are online stores with the company having multiple social accounts. They can tell a person that visits their website and buys something came from a link clicked on their facebook page. If they get 100 sales per month from their facebook page and 10 from their twitter account, they’ll put more time and effort into their facebook page. If they get zero sales from their instagram, they can drop their instagram account.

OK, if this was about marketing only, I could accept that as reasonable.

But it is not. They create profiles of ever user in the same fashion.

Hardly anything escapes the tracking. It is amazing to me how quickly a post on FR is in a search even through duckduckgo.com. There are a few search engines on which that is not true.

They do that with cookies and sniffing out your network’s IP address, PC IP address, Mac address etc. Especially the big boys. Some won’t even let you surf their website if you’re using a VPN.

You can set your browser to clear cookies every time you shut it down. You can surf certain websites using a private tab/window. The big boys will still know who you are. Google will still target you with ads based on your surfing history.

Hell, it seems like they know what private conversations you have in your home if you have an Android based cell phone, even with the microphone supposedly turned off. Same with a PC and you just know that microsoft knows how to stealthily turn things on/off like microphone, camera. Zuckerberg keeps black tape over his camera. What does that tell you?

You can use Tor browser/network but the FBI/NSA watches that all the time.

If I want to leave a comment on a youtube video, I sign into google, make the comment and promptly sign out of google.

All search engines rely on google except for maybe Bing. Google has bots that constantly surf the web and update it’s data. Websites that have frequently changing content get surfed more frequently. If you have a blog and only post once a month, good luck getting listed in search results. You’re put to the back of the queue. Post lengthy, well formed original content every couple of days, you’ll do better.

Makes sense.

Have been using Pale Moon for several years. Having more and more trouble with blank content. Frames show up with context greyed or to a blank page.

Normally run Debian Linux. When I tried to do a clean install on my most current Linux box, made mistake and selected not using the internal CMOS (use EUFI). The install only showed 1 disc, then asked for disc 2. Crashed the install. Have not had the time to trouble shoot it lately.

Firefox based but tweaked for privacy.

I use Falkon browser by KDE for a few things but it’s pretty stripped down. Nice and fast though. Has AdBlock built in. Linux only but I run Kubuntu.

I ran Xubuntu with XFCE for a long time.

Later ran Debian with XFCE for quite a while.

I like Debian because of the Ham Radio apps for it. Have been an Amateur Radio Operator for 45 years (Advanced class in 1976, passed Extra license in 1985, GROL Commercial license in 2000). Built my first PC in 1982. First Linux install was in 1994. Used many distributions as it developed.

I’ve always used some flavor of Ubuntu. Ubuntu is Debian based though so I think any Debian app will run on it.

Yes. I had forgotten that Ubuntu was Debian based. My thought was there were improvements on Debian by Ubuntu. Certainly on the install side.

I found myself in a situation where I could no longer simply upgrade my Xubuntu install. So I went to Debian with XFCE.

For a while, Ubuntu was accepted as being advance ahead of Debian. Then Debian had some security holes show up.

Not sure there are any guarantees that you can have the most stable and secure system from any software group. Including Open Source.

Have several times considered Open BSD as an option. I never installed a full version of BSD (when I started using Linux, BSD was having issues with copyright, which were later resolved by IBM exposing the copyright liars at SCO Unix). I did dabble with Pico BSD, it was interesting super small OS.
