The only loss in annual flu vaccine effectiveness is victimhood caused by its own success. Like COVID, flu mutates because the DNA lines which encounter a vaccine front die out. Only mutant strains propagate. It will be the same with COVID vaccine variants. Scientists will try to outguess the virus, but will stay some amount of time behind its mutations. The key will be to further shorten that lag time.
