NATO Has Become the Very Thing It Was Created to Fight

The U.S. originally spearheaded NATO against the global hegemony sought by the Soviet Union, which, much like NATO, promoted "conflict and confrontation" with every government that did not share its ideology. The historical irony is that the U.S. emerged from the ashes of the Cold War as an ideological nation itself with the same zeal to remake the world.
Reckless NATO expansionism led by Washington contributed to the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War—which then provided NATO expanders an excuse to invite Finland and Sweden into its ranks. Though the alliance's advocates say these countries are joining of their own volition to seek security from Russia, this war was in no small part provoked by NATO becoming a tool of ideological imperialism, which in turn required creating "monsters abroad" to destroy.
Even more absurd is the adoption of social justice rhetoric to justify interventionism. "What does a Pride parade have to do with NATO?" asked the Brookings Institution. "More than you might think."
A new paper published by the Institute for Peace & Diplomacy notes that the injection of "woke" activism into foreign policy "legitimizes any form of military and diplomatic action that is nominally undertaken in its service while delegitimizing criticism of such policies." It leads to "not merely political restructuring in targeted countries but total cultural submission." The result, in other words, is a less safe and stable world. The effects are already being felt at home in America.

NATO should have been shut down and the lights turned off six months after the Warsaw Pact was disbanded.

Maybe it’s mission was to keep Germany in check. Think about it. They advanced as a modern nation on our defense dime, give out liberal social benefits and laugh at us. Trump called them out on it and what thanks did he get from the left. Russia Russia.

NATO was a convenient wag the dog toy for Clinton to play with and for Mad Maddie to avenge her childhood grievances against the Serbs. The Russians didn't forget that and gambled correctly that Europe would roll over since they are dependent on Russian gas. Then they just had to wait for Biden.
Would Trump have started a war with Russia to protect Ukraine? No, that's what peace through strength is for.

In the long or medium term, Finland is probably more secure not as a member of NATO. Historically, buffer states have been important in preventing wars between great powers. Buffer states have a nervous existence, but enjoy a high degree of independence.
Armenia was a critical buffer state that kept the peace between the Roman and Persian empires for decades. Modern examples include Belgium (between Holland and France), Afghanistan (Russian and British empires), and Mongolia (USSR and China).

Reckless NATO expansionism led by Washington contributed to the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War—which then provided NATO expanders an excuse to invite Finland and Sweden into its ranks. There was no "invitation." Membership has been open to all eligible countries since NATO's inception.
No one this year "invited" Finland and Sweden to join - on any pretext whatsoever!
FAIL!
