What's the downside of government workers culling themselves?
To: Vigilanteman

Or 300 people who don’t wish to deal with traffic and $5-gallon gasoline.

What's the downside of government workers culling themselves? For starters, suddenly you will be short 300 workers that provide sullen, slow, incompetent service!
To: Tolerance Sucks Rocks
I wonder how they will pay for that $5 a gal gas with no income?

Perfecto! Get the overpaid, underworked, lazy, incompetent, useless government surplus to quit! Next, cut off all welfare, employment, school enrollment access, health benefits, housing subsidies, food stamps, etc., to illegals, and they’ll do the culling thing as well.

If they are good, they’ll get another job.

In the Government, it is getting paid while gardening.

For starters, suddenly you will be short 300 workers that provide sullen, slow, incompetent service! And then you'll merely have the hundreds of on-site workers providing similar service.

Even the people that work in our grocery stores showed up for work through the thick of it. They got no medals, appreciation from the government, nothing. They should make a federal holiday to thank them and the truckers that made it all happen.

It’s funny that one of the most damning things you can say about someone’s performance is, “they phoned it in.” I’ve mostly seen it used when a big-name movie star takes on a role, they’re not interested in. Critics say, “he phoned it in.” I’ve also seen it when evaluating a programmer’s input.

In the old days of telework, it was made clear that working at home was not to be used for childcare. Now it is often a motive.
