What a world where I have infinitely more respect for the Socialist Prez of Mexico than I do for the diaper-wearer occupying the White House (and have since January 2021).
I can do 1976 as long as it’s early.
Then, I still had my Fastback Mustang from the 60’s.
The idiots running the US want to make it so it is 1:00 when the Sun is overhead. That is simply retarded. Mexico, will at least have the Sun overhead at Noon, when it should be overhead.
If you want more light in the evening, the get up earlier and get your work done earlier.
AZ doesn’t change its clocks; Mexico is in an even better position - just over 14 hr of daylight in Tijuana at the solstice; just over 13 hr of daylight in Cancun at the solstice.
I propose we get rid of February 29. Instead stick it between a Saturday and Sunday in August, calling it Leapday. For example: Saturday, August 20, Leapday, Sunday, August 21
Nope…that would break up the weekend.
Feb 29 is not a holiday.
.
I think it could be a “free” weekend day. Why not get another day off from government? Commies want to control everything, even time.
Finally! Somebody gets it!
I live in Indy and it’s about the same time the sun sets for us in our eastern time zone. Though we are more geographically in the central time zone. TPTB wanted us on New York time back in the day so we moved from central to eastern,
I hate frigg’n politicians.
And I I hate DST too. About the end of summer and my body starts to sync up. Then of course we have to go through that fall back crap.
Yea, I hate it too.
I live very close 90º W longitude so when we’re on standard time, we’re pretty close to ‘God’s time’. It was the railroads that required standard time and for a while, towns would have God’s time, but the railroad station would be on standard time.
In any case, as you get closer to the equator, or to the poles, Daylight time doesn’t do all that much for you.
I'd much rather have earlier daylight for summer mornings when I can work outdoors before it gets HOT.!!
I'd much rather have earlier daylight for summer mornings when I can work outdoors before it gets HOT.!!
Actually, the Navajo Reservation does go on Daylight Saving Time in the summer, but the rest of the state stays on Mountain Standard Time year-round.
I feel the same here in sweltering Houston.
Yep, by the end of the day, you just want the sun to go away, and the earlier the better.
Or just simply a “bitter clinger!” :-D
20 year olds aren’t smart enough to use their 10 years wisely, much less 11.
For a long time, Indiana didn’t do DST. When I was in college at Hillsdale, one of the popular radio stations was WOWO Fort Wayne. This was a typical time check:
“It’s 11:50. It’s 12:50 in Ohio and Michigan.”
