Iran is an enemy of the Saudis and is in a proxy war with them: their proxies in Yemen frequently send missiles into Saudi oil fields. The west laments the starving in Yemen, but like the poor in Gaza never questions why they can afford millions of dollars for missiles but no money for food.

It’s that simple - no fascination with him, or we would have heard his name, at least once in a while, BEFORE he was killed.
