There is no meritorious reason to back Russia or the Ukraine. America must make the choice based solely on its own self interests. What is really disturbing is the fact that there are some people who believe that the Ukraine is worth risking a nuclear war for. And believing that could never happen is thinking worthy of Neville Chamberlain, or like the senator who predicted that all of the blood spilled in the Civil War could be wiped up with a pocket hankie.

What is more disturbing is that there are some people who believe that we should just abandon all our principles and commitments every time some dictator starts waving a nuke around and making empty threats.
