Pence will run because his Deep State backers will demand it, but he’s no threat to actually win. DeSantis won’t run because it would be a bad look for someone who owes his current seat to Trump to turn around and run against him.
Trump is a cagy old Businessman-entertainer. He will use his VP pick to help him—My bet he will offer it to DeSantis! That would be a perfect set up for 2028 run. Maybe a Latino would help? Ted Cruz? Maybe Tucker Carlson? Will not be a woman or a black (well, maybe Dr. Ben Carson) .
