President Joe Biden has tested positive for Covid-19, the White House said Thursday.
The president, who is fully vaccinated and has received two Covid booster shots, is experiencing “very mild symptoms,” press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement.

All along I’ve been surprised that Biden has not contracted COVID. It’s a social disease. By “social disease” I mean that it’s a disease which almost inevitably infects anybody who has extensive social relations; I do not mean that term in the sense that usually refers to venereal disease. The President of the United States is essentially a social creature, whether he wants to be or not. Thus, it’s inevitable that he will get that disease sometime.
Well...that’s it. He’s a goner.

In the meantime, the lowest vaccination rate in the world, Haiti, at 1.4%, also has the lowest infection rate. Go figure.

Haiti is an impoverished semi-tropical country. As such, it probably has a high malaria rate. If so, there is an excellent chance that its people are taking hydroxychloroquine regularly. If so, that could explain the low COVID rate.
