Regarding some of the referenced charities allegedly giving federal aid to illegal aliens, what happened to Leftist rants of 1st Amendment-protected separation of Church and federal government?
Also, patriots are reminded that Justice Joseph Story had identified "poor laws" as uniquely a state power issue.
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
"The power to regulate manufactures is no more confided to congress, than the power to interfere with the systems of education, the poor laws, or the road laws of the states [emphases added]." —Justice Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution 2, 1833.
The congressional record shows that Rep. John Bingham, the main author of Section 1 of the 14th Amendment, had clarified that the delegates to the Constitutional Convention had left the care of the people uniquely to the states, not the feds.
”Simply this, that the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Constitution, is in the States and not in the federal government [emphases added]. I have sought to effect no change in that respect in the Constitution of the country.” —John Bingham, Congressional. Globe. 1866, page 1292 (see top half of third column)
"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.
Finally, is Congress keeping constitutionally required receipts of its alleged unconstitutional taxing and spending for illegal aliens to presumably try to buy the illegal votes of illegal aliens to try to keep alleged election-stealing elite Democrats in power?
"Article 1, Section 9, Clause 7: No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law; and a regular Statement and Account of the Receipts and Expenditures of all public Money shall be published from time to time."
The bottom line is that the states would find more revenues to care for the poor, and do a lot of other things that the Founding States had intended for the states to uniquely do, if ALL the states effectively “seceded" from the unconstitutionally big federal government by repealing the 16th and 17th Amendments.
Repealing these particular misguided, Progressive Era amendments would eliminate the unconstitutional middleman, the unconstitutionally big federal government, from "helping" the states to manage their revenues.
Until Trump's red tsunami of patriot supporters wake up their Constitution-impaired state governments to put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxing and spending, state lawmakers will just have to keep on doing the following.
State lawmakers will need to keep on regularly begging the feds to return stolen state revenues, and citizens' wallets, revenues and wallets politically referred to as federal domestic spending, so that the sovereignty states can keep doing what the Founding States had intended for them to do independently of the federal government.
Corrections, insights welcome.
Finally, patriots are reminded that they must vote twice this election year. Your first vote is to primary career RINO incumbents. Your second vote is to replace outgoing Democrats and RINOs with Trump-endorsed patriot candidates.
Again, insights welcome.
Oh no, I'm going to be like Gumblehunner and open up a can of ridiculous flame war. Not. LOL
I read your stuff and yes the 10th Amendment was as crystal clear as the 2nd - the Founders intended the States to supersede the Feds in nearly all non-international matters. Apparently man is too flawed to adhere to the brilliant outline handed down to him.
I have a friend who worked for Catholic Charities who confirmed the church only lends it's name (and non-taxable status) to a profit-driven government contractor that distributes aliens legal and illegal among us in a shoddy and secretive manner. It has more in common with shady back alley dealing than any confluence of church and state.

Thank you.
