PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — St. Petersburg police are investigating after a person was caught on camera using a flamethrower to torch a Pan-African flag flying on a pole outside the headquarters of a Black international socialist group based in Florida.
Authorities were called to the Uhuru house Saturday around 10:15 a.m. to investigate the incident which happed near the intersection of 13th Street South and 18th Avenue South, in St. Petersburg.
Security video released by the Uhuru Movement showed the driver of a white sedan park outside the group’s St. Petersburg headquarters before they pulled a flamethrower from the car’s trunk.
The person then lights the flame and shoots a tower of fire at the flag flying roughly 30 feet above the ground. The group told the Associated Press the driver stopped when a worker inside the building yelled at him.

DANG!
As an aside, why do so many of these Florida Man stories come from Pinellas County?
I wasn’t anywhere near there, I have an alibi.
Florida Man has been very busy the last few days. He seems focused on St. Pete lately.
I submit that the further south you go the more refugees from other states are gonna be there.
There’s not enough crazy native Floridians to explain it any other way.
Moral of the story: If you’re going to use a flamethrower to torch a racist hate flag make sure your license plate is obscured.
Nine months of summer will make people crazy.
Nothing makes your point like fire. Ask BLM.
Why are so many far-left anti-American hate groups (Uhurus????) finding it so damned easy to set up a public presence in the State of Florida? Remember the Islamic terrorist connected to CAIR who was teaching our children at USF in Tampa?
Probably just celebrating the passing of Lt Uhura of Star Trek.
Very funny. Florida man always entertains.
I’ve lived here for 53 years....maybe that explains it.
I was expecting someone lighting an aerosol can on fire but that was a real flame thrower. Was it homemade or military grade?
Somebody’s taking Uhura’s death way too hard ...
Also, serving in my church’s prison ministry for 5 years I crossed paths with what seemed to be an inordinate number of inmates from Pasco County, which is just a bit north of Pinellas......something the water perhaps?
