The GOP’s inauspicious knee-jerk reaction to the Trump raid
Washington Post via MSN ^ | Aug 9, 2022 | Aaron Blake

One day, relatively soon, the heads of the Justice Department and the FBI are likely to be brought to Capitol Hill to testify about the historic decision to raid a former president’s home.

For now, though, we don’t yet know much about what was in the search warrant used to raid Donald Trump’s residence at Mar-a-Lago on Monday. We do know that the raid concerned the removal of classified documents from the White House and that, according to Trump, agents raided his safe.

But we also quickly found out that a lot of influential people are rather uninterested in any of that, reflexively shouting “witch hunt” and baselessly blaming President Biden for the raid in a way that bodes very poorly for whatever comes next in this process. Trump has marshaled his army of supporters to declare, in knee-jerk fashion, any legal scrutiny of him a deep-state operation.....

It also bears noting that this portion of the country was once quite laser-focused on keeping tabs on potentially sensitive government documents. Trump’s best attack on Hillary Clinton during the 2016 campaign was her private email server. Many of those who raised alarm bells about that were very quiet when we learned that government documents had made their way to Mar-a-Lago. (McCarthy, for one, had lambasted Clinton for what he called her “fundamental lack of judgment and wanton disregard for protecting and keeping information confidential” back in 2016.)

"Trump’s best attack on Hillary Clinton during the 2016 campaign was her private email server."

But the FBI never raided her personal server and let her delete 33,000 emails and wipe the server destroying evidence.

The GOP is little more than a bad joke anymore. No spine...no balls.

“It’s a knee-jerk reaction” seems to be the gaslighting talking point du jour.

Comey, of course, said Hillary was “extremely careless” (a legally meaningless term) - but not “reckless” (which is a specific crime) in mishandling numerous classified emails, up to and including TS//SAR and TS//SCI info.

But, if it weren’t for double standards, some people wouldn’t have any standards at all.

Hillary Clinton was also not the President which makes her removal and misuse of classified documents even more egregious.

You can make an argument that a President as the ultimate classification authority cannot be held liable for misuse or abuse of classified information but a Secretary of State / First Lady enjoys no such privileges.

The Deep State is doing a good job of pissing us off. This is part of their strategy. As long as there’s no violent acts and we keep a cool head we will overcome. But there’s a breaking point and we’re a hairsbreath away.

He actually mentions in his editorial the most glaring example of the two-tiered system of justice created by this corrupt DOJ, and yet can’t see it. An incredible example of the willful blindness of the typical lib.

And Hitlery Rotten Criminal smashed her blackberries to destroy evidence.

She should have been charged with obstruction of justice.

And then there’s her private e-mail server which was not secure and contained Top Secret documents.

It’s believed that hostile regimes were able to access it.

But still, The Wicked Witch of the West Wing skates.

The boy has cried wolf way too many times for anyone to believe they had a good reason to do this raid.

They just defiled our system of government and they know it.

And just in case we would do the same to them, they will stop at nothing.

Forget about the GOPe. IMO Biden/Obama and the Left have officially declared war on America and her people.

How do we respond?

Let's hope that the least that can be done is vote these criminals out of office all over our country in November.

Obama and Co. believe the American People are stupid and will forget after a few months. But Trump NEVER forgets and he will remind people of this criminal act of the FBI almost certainly approved and launched by the "Unselect Committee of One" - Obama - the guy behind the Biden Admin. IMO.

How does Obama get away with it? Political correctness (PC) ratified by the GOPe who are more concerned bout their political future than America's future.

PC protected Obama during his presidency and the ONLY ONE who challenged Obama's protective PC was Trump regarding the birth certificate fiasco.

"PC" is actually the spirit of antichrist IMO and Trump and Co. need to BLAST PC and the GOPe out of the water and replace PC with FREE SPEECH and THE CONSTITUTION.

I think a more apt description of these events falls under the historical analogy known as "crossing the Rubicon." Rome ceased to be a republic when Caesar and his soldiers crossed the Rubicon, essentially declaring war, a point of no return.

Last night's action can be accurately described as the point of no return, as a sitting president unleashed the power of the federal government on the previous president, who is likely to be his opponent in the next election.

The one person who should understand the historical reference is Thoroughly Modern Milley, the chairman of the JCS. How a 4 star general can remain silent here is unfathomable to me.

The President can decide what is secret and what is not. Trump was President when his staff removed these documents.
