A man told his ex-girlfriend that he knew a Mexican cartel sergeant that could hurt her in Mexico, according to Laredo police.
Armando Cristobal Flores, 44, was charged with aggravated assault causes serious bodily injury and harassment.
An assault was reported on July 30 at an apartment in the 1300 block of East Calton Road. A woman stated she was being assaulted and that her hand was injured. Police identified a suspect vehicle as a brown Ford F-150. The driver was identified as Flores.
exp-player-logo He allegedly refused to obey commands to put his hands up. He was then detained without incident and placed inside the patrol unit. An investigation revealed that the woman was arriving at the location on Calton when she noticed her ex-boyfriend of five years, Flores, following her to her residence.
She drove around the complex while Flores continued to follow her. She added that Flores attempted to crash into her vehicle, a white Chevy Malibu. She parked to go into her apartment followed by Flores. He started threatening her. At one point, he stated he knew a sergeant in a Mexican cartel that could hurt her, states the arrest affidavit.
