As I understand it, the F.B.I. is virtually the only L.E.O. agency that does not make an electronic record of its interviews, rather using Agents’ notes to record what is said. I believe also that lying to the F.B.I. is a criminal offense and you can be charged with lying based on the agents’ notes. If that is true, why would anyone talk to an F.B.I. agent, other than to say, “I want my lawyer”.
I have read that if you tell the FBI you are recording the “interview” they will go away.
