A serious question. Twnty years plus or so Hayden was counted as one of the rock solid good men inside the intel and defence communities. How has he become so dysfunctional and corrupt? What has really gone on within the USG,, DOD and the intel community since the victory in the Cold War. Ir appears the there is more that has happened than just the most morally destructive man in American political history. What happened?le defense and intel community has pretty well lost whatever professional ethical bearings it might have had. How did this happen. Yes , I know Clinton was a substantially part of the process, he really is the American Mephisto and makes Burr look like a county court clerk in comparison.
But more than that went on. GW Bush and company seemed to have institutionalized the ‘we don’t need no stinking badges’ mindset. How did so many leaders become so corrupt and morally bankrupt?

President Donald Trump’s trolling of the whistleblower, a mole inside his White House who did not agree with his foreign policy, inspired another frequent critic, retired Gen. Michael Hayden to call the president “an idiot.”
Gen. Hayden, who began as National Security Agency director under President Bill Clinton and served in the early years of President George W. Bush, tweeted:
“You’re an idiot. Truly.”
Hayden led U.S. national security when it incorrectly believed Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, a foreign policy failure President Trump has long rebuked.
The retired general’s sophomoric response Saturday came in response to the president’s Saturday tweet asking where the White House mole is amid the use of the whistleblower complaint on foreign policy as a vehicle for House Democrats’ latest impeachment attempt:

“The Whistleblower has disappeared. Where is the Whistleblower?”

The whistleblower objected to the president calling for an investigation into potential corruption in the Ukraine – allegedly tying it to the release of military aid – because it involved to a Democrat who potentially could become the president’s chief rival in the 2020 election.

Yes, I think you answered it.

It really was Colin Powell and Dick Cheney more than Dubya. The “You broke it, you own it” attitude and nation building that perverted them so.

And I think that without a Soviet boogie man, or Saddam Hussien as the B star boogie man, they just were left looking for enemies, instead of going home as the heroes who won.

They think they’ve “reluctantly” taken on the mantel of the Elite. In their minds, anyway. They reckon themselves the Masters of the Universe.

Clinton stroked it for them, Bush somewhat, and Obama even more so.

Trump threatened all that.
