An RC-135 reconnaissance plane of the British Royal Air Force illegally crossed Russia's state border in the Arctic area of Cape Svyatoy Nos, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.
The British aircraft was discovered over the waters of the Barents Sea, and a MiG-31BM fighter scrambled in response and forced the plane out of the Russian territory, the ministry said.

I believe the brits only have 2
Tha’s more than just 00ps!
Russkies should have blown it up. Screw Britain
Any little incident like this could start WW-III. I almost hate to check the Latest News each time.
Russia accusing anybody of a border violation is rich.
Guess they’ll have to make something that flys higher.
Careful, thinking will get you in trouble with the Pupinistas.

I’d like to say you’re incorrect; but I can’t.
Lol… I saw what you did there. Like a U2?
Not to worry Mac, the Limeys will send Americans to fight it, as usual.
I don't think they like me very much.
That has pretty much happened thousands of times since around 1950. I guess if they shoot one down we can see where the wreckage hits. On the other hand, the purpose of some of these missions is to provoke a war. Hopefully they do not succeed.
And yet Russian aircraft violate our airspace all the time.
The Brit/NATO RC-135’s position was publicly available via ADS-B, and never entered Russian air space. Of course, that won’t stop the usual folks from rushing to Russia’s defense and wishing the evil Brits were blown out of the sky.

” ... the purpose of some of these missions is to provoke a war.”
No; the purpose of these missions is to observe the speed and nature of the interception. They do it and we do it, constantly. Another point: it’s not clear that the RC-135 violated Russian territory or Russia’s ID zone. I don’t take the word of Russia’s Ministry of Defense, and neither should you.
“NATO provocation, it’s what they do”
These flights have been going on since the beginning of the Cold War. Russian “fishing trawlers” sit just outside the 12-mile international waters boundary off the coast of Georgia, near Kings Bay submarine base. They watch (and listen to) us and we watch (and listen to) them, on land, at sea, and in the air.
