Mask Mandates Ineffective in LA: USC and UCLA Doctors
epoch times ^ | 16 August A.D. 2022 | Julianne Foster

With Los Angeles County health officials announcing last month masks will no longer be required indoors, a letter surfaced signed by doctors and researchers from USC and UCLA suggesting mask mandates were ineffective at preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the county.

The February letter from researchers and medical professionals at UCLA’s Geffen School of Medicine and USC’s Keck School of Medicine was sent to the LA County Board of Supervisors asking the board to end mask mandates.

“The time to end local mask mandates is now,” the letter reads.

Data shown within the letter suggest there was a continued increase in COVID-19 cases in the last 7 months of 2021, even though mask mandates were in place during that time.

The letter further references several studies, one in Denmark and another in Bangladesh, showing there were no significant impacts on COVID-19 cases between masked and unmasked groups.

Health Deputy Anders Corey for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors told The Epoch Times the doctors’ letter influenced Supervisor Kathryn Barger and her decision to openly oppose mask mandates.

Barger released an open letter (pdf) July 25 opposing mask mandates in the county, just a few days prior to the county’s Department of Public Health announcing that it would not enforce a universal indoor mask mandate due to slowing COVID-19 transmission countywide.

“I have not seen any empirical data that conclusively shows that masking mandates make a difference in decreasing or stopping COVID-19 transmission rates,” Barger wrote.

In her letter, she referenced the analysis of mask mandate effectiveness in Alameda county—which dropped its policies just three weeks after instating them, citing no significant impacts on the county in comparison to local counties without masking policies.

“What I have seen, time and time again, is that masking mandates actually distract our collective efforts to decrease COVID-19 infection rates,” Barger wrote.

Since January, Barger has claimed mask mandates do not work because they are not followed or enforced.

“Individuals should be allowed to make an informed choice about whether to mask up or not,” she said in a statement.

The LA Health Department has continued to recommend masking in public places countywide—such as schools, public transportation, healthcare settings, indoor activities, airplanes, and anywhere with large crowds.

Freedom, liberty, and personal responsibility.

What novel concepts!

Those aren’t masks.

They’re muzzles.

It’s all about teaching COMPLIANCE….
...not “following the science”:

Masks are:

1) a sign of submission, subversion and subjugation
2) mandated in order to dehumanize
3) virtue signaling devices
4) meant to provide constant reinforcement of fear
5) used to destroy community, friends and family normal communication
6) implemented to create isolation, confusion, anxiety, destroy human connectivity, trust and interactions
7) mandated to exacerbate illness
8) intended to aid in the abandonment of the belief and reliance on our immune systems
9) intended to refute integrous science
10) signal to positions of power that you are willing to give up all of your rights and freedoms based on anything they say, even if it is a BIG FAT LIE!

How many people got banned from Twitter, Facebook and Youtube predicting this by reading back the research materials at hand before March 2020.

Every public health “expert” with big techs backing instantly forgot it was a known virus type (with a flashy name) and all that just about everything was known about transmission when you classify the virus as coronavirus.

People who stated the obvious were shunned, that is not how a modern non police state is ran.

I was on the USC campus about three hours ago. Most of those I saw on campus weren’t wearing masks, but a few were. There are still signs on doors demanding that all who enter must don masks.

They will never apologize or be called to answer for the profound misery they caused by all these mandates, etc. Not a word of apology or self-reproach.
Nothing to see here, move along now and wait for the NEXT pandemic!

Disgusting.

The politicians and bureaucrats who crammed the Scamdemic down our throats should all be obliged to find new careers in the exciting field of fast food.

You can examine whole-state data to get the same conclusion. I split time between insane California and sane Idaho. The outcomes are the same for both states. Idaho had almost no lockdowns, masks, distancing and all the other crap. California went nuts for all of that. Same results.

As they say “viruses gonna virus.”

I went to a new doctor’s office yesterday, a referral. I had checked a few weeks ago, no mask required. But, yesterday they said they had decided to go back everybody having to wear one. They asked if I had one or needed one - I said “No, I’m not superstitious. But please let my doc know you refused to see me.”

Oh, we’re not rufusing... uh, yeah, you are.

I politely left after that. I don’t believe in astrology, either.

With their experimentation on an unsuspecting American public, Deep State and its henchmen and women in Big Med And Big Pharma make the people who participated in Japan’s WWII Unit 731 look like pikers.

I cannot tell you how many healthcare professionals I have caught over the last two years violating proper infection control practice with regard to muzzles.

The loss to the credibility of most medical professionals over the past 2.5 years is incalculably large … and still growing. And that’s not a good thing (although they did it to themselves by participating in the fauci flu debacle.)

What is surprising is that these docs actually admitted that the mask mandates were worthless. Could that have been a sign of — it’s hard to say this — honesty?

Prior to the pandemic, I’ve had a number of experiences with doctors where it was clear that were giving either a) bad advice and/or b) recommending things that benefitted them but not me or my family.

During their pandemic, they lost their credibility by boycotting anything mentioned by Trump, no matter how effective it was (like Ivermectin). Not all physicians, but most The other thing was suspending all CV-19 measures to that people could protest George Floyd’s death. That one thing basically illustrated how much the Medical Community had elevated politics over public health. And don’t get me started on transgender operations for children.

The whole thing is disgusting and likely criminal.

Emphasizing that I'm not medically trained, please consider the following.

"Mask Mandates Ineffective [??? emphasis added] in LA: USC and UCLA Doctors ..."

The word "ineffective" concerning wearing a mask to help prevent someone from getting infected with CV19 is suspicious imo.

Noting that I don't know if masks are helping to get people sick, if CV19 masks are possibly helping to weaken people so that they do get sick, and not necessarily sick from CV19, then even if masks are ineffective for fighting CV19, aren't state medical officials who order that masks be worn possibly engaging in medical malpractice if some people get sick with anything because of mask?

Please consider this thread from earlier this summer.

Bacterial and fungal isolation from face masks under the COVID-19 pandemic (6.18.22)

Also, we saw a thread from middle of 2021 that reported that Florida parents had their kid's masks smartly lab tested to see what "bugs" might be found and got a list of troubling pathogens hiding in fabric, including pneumonia, tuberculosis and meningitis.

A Group Of Parents Sent Their Kids' Face Masks to A Lab for Analysis. Here's What They Found (6.15.21)

Corrections, insights welcome.

I know some colleges and universities have reimplanted mask mandates, despite requiring vaccines and often times boosters. I guess they don’t think it’s very safe and effective. What happened to the brain dead potato seeing if you get the vaccine, you won’t get the virus?
