Allen Weisselberg, the longtime chief financial officer of the Trump Organization, pleaded guilty to tax fraud charges in Manhattan on Thursday as part of a deal that will require him to testify about business practices at former President Donald Trump’s real estate company.
The 75-year-old was charged with accepting more than $1.7 million “off the books” by Trump’s company over the years to avoid taxes, including perks like free rent at a Manhattan apartment, luxury cars and tuition payments for his grandchildren.
Weisselberg admitted to all 15 felonies leveled against him by prosecutors during a hearing in Manhattan state court Thursday morning.
Weisselberg’s defense attorney Nicholas Gravante Jr. had told the court his client would enter the guilty plea in exchange for a promised sentence of five months in jail.
Under the deal, prosecutors said Weisselberg would have to testify about the Trump Organization’s alleged role in the illegal compensation scheme and could ultimately serve as a witness when the real estate business goes to court in October on criminal charges.
“If he doesn’t testify truthfully in the upcoming trial, a significant state prison term may be imposed, the maximum is 5 to 15 years,” District Attorney Joshua Steinglass told the court.
Under the terms of the plea deal, Weisselberg — a longtime Trump confidant — will also get five years probation and be required to repay taxes, penalties and interest totaling about $2 million.

There... fixed it
Has Al Sharpton paid his back taxes? Asking for a friend.
Allen made the mistake of not disclosing imputed income while being associated with Trump.
Gee, I wonder if they will ask similar questions about the Clinton Foundation and what they were up to in Haiti? Would not hold my breath or bet much money on that, lol.
And I can't give my buddy the use of one of my apartments? Why??
Promised sentence of 5 months? Wow!
Everyone has a price.
But at 75 years old that will be a hassle.
BTW - remember how the 0bama flunkies let Tim Geitner and Kathleen Sebelius file amended returns to correct what was easily-provable tax fraud?
We have a multi-tiered justice system worthy of a banana-nana (sic) republic.

I just read up (a little) on imputed income. That’s scary schiff. It seems they could nab anyone on that. Stay-at-home moms or someone who has a garden.
Ok so since this guy fudged on his taxes he is to either be punished harshly or to avoid being punished very much be forced to lie so they can go after Trump for more made up reasons.
It’s amazing how lowly “public servants” in the legislature become multi-millionaire in a few years. Wonder if all THAT income was reported.
As designed.
HE cheated on HIS taxes.
End of story.
“..the Trump Organization’s alleged role in the illegal compensation scheme...”
Sounds like the corruption is on Weisselberg for not paying taxes on those items, not Trump’s Organization. He knew it, and willfully dodged the taxes.
This is garbage. Anyone associated with Trump is being rounded up. The tax issue is petty and would be ignored if it was someone else. I can’t believe what this country has become.
Remember, everyone is guilty of violating some criminal statute; it's just a matter of how deeply they wish to dig.
I think staying at the corporate apartment when you are putting in extraordinary hours due to workload should not be taxable, but apparently it is. Of coarse the people who make those rules have never put in those kind of hours.
I’ll bet if you audited congress you would find billions in unclaimed perks.

Martha Stewart went to jail for 5 months for lying to FBI...thanks to James Comey.
“There’s no way to rule innocent men.
The only power government has is the power to crack down on criminals.
Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them.
One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.”
