Yes, unprecedented, but yet he allowed it to go forward knowing full well this public outrage would the be the consequence. It’s hard to believe the judge is having second thoughts.
It seems more reasonable to think that unsealing the warrant will just further the process of smearing President Trump’s reputation without having to prove anything in a court of law. Those who have written the warrant will continue to be (seemingly) out of reach for prosecution themselves and the media will have another trove of sensational “news” to fuel their nonstop negative coverage.
