This Woman Is the Worst Mayor in America
American Spectator ^ | 24 August 2022 | Scott McKay

New Orleans’ LaToya Cantrell is running away with the competition.

irst, for those of you who haven’t read all of the previous columns in this space, a definition. What is Weaponized Governmental Failure?

Simply put, it’s the process by which urban socialist Democrats intentionally muck up the basic tasks of municipal governance and create such soul-crushing environments that middle-class taxpayers and voters decamp for the suburbs, thus leaving an electorate incapable of throwing off the political machine.

My theory is that Weaponized Governmental Failure, or WGF for short, was arrived upon serendipitously. At some point in the 1990s, Democrats noticed that some of their worst mayors — like Washington, D.C.’s Marion Barry — were simply unbeatable despite dismal performances.

And, at that point, it became recognizable to urban socialist Democrats that if you governed badly enough, if you refused to fill potholes or police the streets or solve traffic problems or provide functional public education, the middle-class voters who would consider voting Republican and therefore could put your political power at threat would just … leave.

Tucker Carlson did a number on her last night.
Naturally, her office refused to answer when Tucker Carlson sent questions to her.
Chuckle.

McKay writes well. And the ‘donut city’ theory is on display everywhere.

Don't forget Lightfoot of Chicago.
Is there any human being that is worse than she is?

This just in: New York’s Mayor Adams declares himself to be a woman so he can enter next year’s contest.

What really gets me is the people who have been electing and re-electing Democrats who are running their cities into the ground don’t seem to learn from their past mistakes and keep doing the same but expecting different results. What is that the definition of?

In addition to problems with the electorate, persons like Cantrell have been given degrees despite lacking knowledge, jobs despite lacking skills, and political office despite lacking judgment and leadership.

The Quota Train rails have now been joined up coast to coast.

Lousy urban leadership also chases the smarter less lazy city dwellers to the suburbs.

This really highlights what seems to be a dominant trend on the Left — if you are really bad, the people who would oppose you will just leave.

You can see this in the schools — there are some good teachers. But they are retiring or quitting because the awful school administrators just make things worse and worse. Soon, 100% of the teachers who are left will enthusiastically embrace all of the bad ideas.

And, as this article points out, really bad mayors cause productive people to leave which means that 100% of the citizens who are left will expect a bad mayor and a corrupt system that rewards people who play along.

And businesses see this as HR and the angry woke employees create a toxic environment and productive workers just decide to call it quits.

Going Galt, one way or another.

Ignorance?

But seriously folks...2020 showed us that large swathes, even majorities, in cities were just fine with looting, arson, targeting police for destruction etc. because someone on TV told them it was justified. Criminality including wanton violence is like breathing to them.

It’s a good nature vs nurture debate but the outcome is the same.

Nobody can beat this POS -

He was the original founder of these problems IMHO, between him and the unions he turned Detroit into the sh*thole it became and killed the goose laying the golden eggs of Michigan.
