A mere half a point shift in a small handful of states would have done it. So yes, any little thing they did to rig this made the difference. 4 years of the Russian hoax certainly tainted a half percent of voters.
Still can’t let Trump’s campaign off the hook for letting Biden run an air war uncontested and define himself on multiple media markets for months on end, however. That also influenced at least a half percent of voters.

Meanwhile, the Democrats know the Hunter Laptop scandal is eventually going to be exposed - so they may as well turn it to their advantage: 1) They can use it to throw Biden under the bus when the time comes for them to choose a better puppet. 2) They can use it to throw the FBI and DOJ under the bus for when Republicans regain control.
But most importantly, notice how it 3) allows them to repeatedly reinforce the false claim that Biden won and Trump lost:
