'He was toxic': Jared Kushner calls Steve Bannon 'a suicide bomber' and says the 'power got to his head' during his White House tenure as he promotes new book
Daily Mail ^ | August 27, 2022 | Stephen M. Lepore

Presidential son-in-law and former presidential advisor Jared Kushner spoke out about his often troubled relationship with ex-chief strategist Steve Bannon, whom he likened to a 'suicide bomber.'

Kushner, speaking on The Hugh Hewitt Show Friday, said that Bannon 'blew up' before father-in-law President Donald Trump fired the former Breitbart chief in 2017, according to Mediaite.

He said: 'Steve really defeated himself, you know. His head got so big he was just doing all these crazy things, and the ultimately just you know, like a suicide bomber, blew up'.

The former White House senior advisor, 41, referred to Bannon as a 'cancer' and a 'malignant' figure in his new book, Breaking History, which he spent much of the interview promoting.

Kushner told the president in an excerpt obtained by DailyMail.com that despite their feud, he didn't oppose a presidential pardon for Bannon, who had been charged with a fraud scheme related to an effort to raise private funds to build the border wall.

'Steve was incredibly destructive to your first year in office, but he was there for you on the first campaign when few were,' Kushner told the president, he writes. ...

Kushner believes it stems from Bannon's early support for his father-in-law: 'I think if you look at Steve … Steve was actually with us very early. He was great on the campaign. He was a great partner when it got to the White House. I think maybe the power got to his head a little bit or he just – it was being more of what he was.'

The Affinity Partners founder added that Bannon was 'undermining us, knife-fighting with colleagues and it just wasn't helping us implement the agenda.'

Bannon has his faults but he’s a bright guy and he does have a lot of good ideas. I can’t say the latter about Kushner.

I’ll take Bannon over Kushner every day of the week.

Bannon and Kushner aren’t all that different . . . if you strip away the outer trappings. Bannon may be a bomb-thrower, while Kushner is a known poisoner.

This is one reason why the conservative base is so incredibly screwed! The diabolical rats stick together like booger glue! Even to this day they still stand up for the most corrupt senile vegetable on the face of this planet. If the shoe would’ve been on the other foot the Republicans would’ve already knifed their president. Oh yeah they did the Russian hoax and Watergate! Me bad!

This guy is about as far away from MAGA as you can get. The unfortunate reality is Trump still hasn’t been wisened up about this guy. Kushner will probably be back to reprise his role of administration swamp cheerleader and swamp job placement specialist.

There are some posters even today that are trying to spin it that kushner and Bannon didn’t have a problem and are fine with each other even today.

It’s ludicrous.

Kushnikov might be having troubles with his book sales?

Seriously, he's Trump's family, so I give him a pass.

But I wouldn't characterize Bannon as a "Suicide Bomber", I'd label Steve.....

THE BANNON MEGATON MAGA BOMB!

Does this moron think picking a fight with Bannon will give him street cred?

He’s just a douchebag from a crime family.

Trump needs to sideline this idiot and his socialite wife.

I wonder what his sons think of this douche.

I like Bannon. I could give a hoot what Kushner thinks about politics.

Bannon is a loose cannon and i find most of it appealing, but having the clown who wrote Fire and Fury basically camped out in his office was petty and unbecoming. He needs to stick with his path now and do his own thing.

Kushner is pure slime. Club member, insider, nepotism taker, angler, elitist book humper.

He is also exhibit #1 in the long list of bad Trump hires.

These people fail to see themselves as servants to the King.

Kushner needs to step aside. He’s a democrat at heart and will do nothing to pull the rotten tree root out of DC.

So is Kushner saying the power didn’t go to HIS head? (I think it did.)

Kushner is a self-interested, self-promoting, NY liberal. Of COURSE he would say that about Bannon - he would say the same about anyone trying to help President Trump defeat the swamp and restore American greatness. As such, I pay as much attention to his opinions as I do any other lib’s or Leftist’s, which is to say, none at all.

So, Jared, what have you done for us lately?

I don’t see you fighting the good fight as Bannon is doing.

Who to believe/trust here? Bannon, a guy who does have an ego and is driven but is very bright and determined? Or do I believe a lifetime member of the NYC leftist club working in a Conservative administration?

Ok, I think I know.

“Trump needs to sideline this idiot and his socialite wife.”
————
Yes. Invite them to family gatherings, but don’t trust either regarding politics any more than you would trust a starving dog not to steal a freshly cooked steak off your plate - in fact, trust them LESS.

“I wonder what his sons think of this douche.”
——————
That I would love to know! I don’t think that we’ll find out until after DJT is gone, and I am willing to wait a very long time for that (may God bless him and grant him a long and healthy life).

He is,the kind of dog that will take food from you, pretend to be friendly, then turn around d and bite you as soon as you turn your back on him. In otherwords, he is a liberal weasel through and through. Look for him to smear Trump if he ever divorces his wife, or if Trump ever doesn’t include him in things. He is like a coiled spring, waiting for any reason to uncoil on Trump- the money is too good right now though, so hes being semi civil. Jared, we can see your lies through our parabolic eyes.
