History books are always rewritten by the victors. Count on it.
True, but then more time goes by and real historians eventually tell the truth of what really happened as the partisan tensions which glossed over the truth at the time dissipate over time.
Eventually, the real, full truth comes out. It doesn’t matter how hard to try to hide it. (think of Jeffersons slave children)
The books are written by the victors but the truth always finds its own way out.
